About Breville®
"For
us, the ultimate appliance is one that gets used every day."
-John O'Brien, 1927-2003
When 4-1 pony Peter Pan finished first in the 1932 Melbourne
Cup, radio salesman Bill O'Brien and engineer Harry Norville
invested their winnings in starting their dream company,
Breville Radio. The word "Breville" is derived from the
founder's names, O'Brien and Norville. During World War
II, Breville helped the Allied troops by manufacturing mine
detectors. Later with radio's popularity waning to television
by the late 1950s, Breville turned its focus to small appliances.
Bill's son, John O'Brien, showed a passionate interest in
growing the small Australian appliance company. He founded
the Breville Research and Development center in 1972. Two
years later, Breville introduced the world's first scissor-action
sandwich maker. The first year this Snack 'n' Sandwich Toaster
sold 400,000 units-one of the most successful product launches
in Australian history.
Today, from New Zealand to the UK, toasted sandwiches are
still affectionately called "Brevilles," so much so that
the term has been added to the Australian dictionary. The
sandwich maker's success was soon followed by the iconic
Kitchen Wizz food processor, together with a range of high-performance,
time-saving appliances such as blenders, dairy bars, yogurt
makers, and waffle irons. By the early 1980s Breville had
established an office in Hong Kong and was exporting its
innovations to fifteen countries.
During the 1990s, Breville's hometown of Sydney was quickly
becoming the world's most multicultural city with a craving
for fresh, healthy foods and a taste for Mediterranean and
Asian cuisine. Breville's revolutionary innovations like
the high-wall heating electric wok, the health grill, panini
press, and award-winning Juice Fountain, and espresso machines,
brought Sydney's "Café Culture" to millions of homes around
the world. In 2001, Breville's merger with Australian kitchenware
company HWI helped support the expansion of Breville's Centre
of Design Excellence and bring Breville design and innovation
to North America.

About Chicago Metallic
Chicago
Metallic Two years before the
20th century dawned, a Chicago area bakeware company opened
for business. The 1898 Spanish-America War may have overshadowed
news of the Chicago Metallic founding that year, but in
the century to come the bakeware supplier prospered to make
headline news. Today Chicago Metallic is the oldest manufacturer
still producing commercial metal bakeware in the United
States.
Pie plates for the wholesale trade dominated Chicago Metallic's
early product line. Over time the bakeware company expanded
into a variety of bakeware for both the professional and
home baker. From juicy meatloaf and roasted chicken breasts
to moist mini muffins and melted chocolate cake, Chicago
Metallic pans present perfectly baked, delectable foods
hot from the oven.
For decades commercial bakers relied on the unfailing quality
and long-lasting durability of Chicago Metallic pans, now
home bakers can, too. As the industry leader offering professional
and commercial bakeware to the home baker, Chicago Metallic
introduced the Checkerboard Cake Pan in the 1930s. This
fun cake pan is still enjoyed by bakers worldwide.
Continuing with its long tradition of excellence, Chicago
Metallic was the first manufacturer to translate trends
in the food industry into bakeware for consumers. Chicago
Metallic used its expertise to develop healthier products
for home bakers. When tastier, nutritional muffins became
a craze, Chicago Metallic introduced the 24-cup Mini Muffin
Pan, Giant Muffin, Muffin Top Pan®, and Crown Muffin/Popover
pans to name a few. The company's other nutrition-conscious
items include the Lo-Fat Nonstick Meatloaf Set, Lo-Fat
Nonstick Broiler Pans, and the Baked Tortilla/Taco Shell
Pan.
Test kitchen chefs and food columnists from noted publications
such as Bon Appetit and The New York Times continually give
rave reviews of Chicago Metallic products. Chicago Metallic's
unequaled reputation for superior quality and innovation
make this historic company the best bakeware for home bakers
who prefer the professional edge.

About Cuisinart® Cookware
Cuisinart
Cookware Carl Sontheimer and his
wife, Shirley, found themselves mesmerized by the demonstration
of a restaurant food preparation machine in France. Intrigued
by the machine's capabilities, the Sontheimers determined
to create their own useful home appliance for Americans.
Carl, a retired MIT-trained physicist and accomplished cook,
refined a prototype of the food preparation machine and
launched a housewares company called Cuisinart.
In 1973 the Sontheimers unveiled the "Food Processor at
the National Housewares Exposition in Chicago. Carl improved
the machine's discs and blades, and instead of taking 15
minutes to mix eggs into a puff shell dough, the food processor
only took 15 seconds. The amazing new machine also chopped
a pound of meat in less than 60 seconds.
In 1975, a confident Carl took his new machine to food experts
such as Julia Child, James Beard, Jacques Pépin, Craig Claiborne,
and Helen McCully. These culinary pros praised the food
processor in such publications as Gourmet and The New York
Times. Cuisinart was now considered a noteworthy investment
for serious home cooks.
The Cuisinart food processor business soared and more than
a dozen other food processor brands soon joined the expanding
market. Within a decade of the introduction of its original
food processor, Cuisinart introduced seven new models each
with a larger capacity work bowl and a stronger, more efficient
motor.
After shaping Cuisinart into a leading housewares brand,
the Sontheimers sold the company to a group of investors
in 1988. The following year, the Conair Corporation, a top
American manufacturer of consumer appliances, personal care,
and consumer electronics, purchased Cuisinart.
Over the years Cuisinart continued to introduce several
other small housewares including cookware, coffeemakers,
blenders, toasters, waffles makers, ice cream makers, and
much more. Today the company's mission remains to introduce
people not just to products but also to a passion for good
cooking. Providing culinary education through cooking tips
and techniques is at the heart of Cuisinart. The company
sponsors
several public television series including Jacques Pépin:
Fast Food My Way and Lidia's Italian American Kitchen, hosted
by Lidia Matticchio Bastianich, regarded as "the First Lady
of Italian cuisine and restaurants in the United States.

About Henckels
Henckels
For nearly three hundred years, the Henckels cutlery brand
has stood as the world's symbol for legendary quality and
function. German knife-maker Peter Henckels registered his
"twin" trademark with the Cutlers' Guild of Solingen in
1731. The following year, George Washington was born in
America. The world has certainly changed since these noteworthy
events, but the Henckels company's commitment to customer
satisfaction and producing superior products still flourishes
three centuries later.
A descendant of founder Peter Henckels, Johann Abraham Henckels,
lent his initials to the advancing company. Steeped in 275
years of tradition and innovative success, Henckels is today's
most exclusive, best-performing kitchen cutlery in the world.
Headquartered in Solingen, Germany, Henckels oversees subsidiaries
around the globe and is sold in more than 100 countries.
Balance, performance, and durability make Henckels' hand-honed
knives the favorites of top chefs throughout the world.
Laser monitoring ensures that each blade is honed to the
optimum cutting angle and honing is consistent from tip
to bolster. The high-carbon, no-stain steel blades go through
a special ice-hardening process, making them remarkably
durable and corrosion-resistant, and the tangs are triple-riveted
or permanently bonded to the handles.

About Jura-Capresso®
Michael
Kramm, president of Krups USA, helped popularize high-end
coffee makers and the home espresso market for more than
20 years. In 1994 he started Capresso to develop machines
designed for the discriminating tastes of American coffee
connoisseurs.
Mr. Kramm believes the sophisticated coffee aficionados
in the United States are not fully satisfied with the preparation
of their favorite coffee drinks. "Today Europe shows clearly
that there is a next step in how people consume coffee,
a step still to be taken by many people here," he explains.
"When Europeans go to a specialty store, they are drinking
coffee prepared on the principle of pressure-brewed coffee.
Our Super-Automatics deliver pressure brewed coffee consistently
better and fresher than most American coffee bars."
Deciding to break out of the mindset of creating coffee
maker products for the wide middle market, Kramm established
Capresso to concentrate on, as he says, "the best solution
for the true coffee lover, not necessarily the most affordable."
In 2003 Capresso partnered with Jura AG, established in
1931 in Switzerland and the worldwide leader in the premium
market of fully automatic coffee and espresso centers. Jura-Capresso
brings the most technologically advanced coffee equipment
to the United States.
Through new patented designs, Jura-Capresso offers easy-to-use
features such as one-touch beverage buttons, multi-language
LED displays, and interchangeable frother systems. "Frankly,
our machines are not for everyone," Kramm explains. "But
for those who wont settle for second best, we produce high-quality
European products that deliver superior performance with
utmost convenience and reliability."
Superior performance. Utmost convenience and reliability.
Who could ask for anything more?
About Krups®
Krups,
How does a family-owned company housed in a forge in the
German countryside and specializing in scales become one
of the world's leading manufacturers of kitchen appliances?
How do they remain a renowned name in kitchen appliances
for almost two centuries?
Simple:
·Providing the product customers want
·A quest for perfection
·Innovation
It's 1846, and the Mexican-American War rages in the North
America. Elias Howe patents the sewing machine. Adolph Sax
patents the saxophone. And the Krups family starts small.
Josua Kortz has several friends working for him, including
his nephew, Robert Krups. The latter's son, also called
Robert, will turn the German forge into an industrial company.
Twenty years later, moving to larger facilities in Solingen
signals the beginning of an international corporation, with
products now being shipped to Holland and Switzerland. As
the 20th century dawns, Krups becomes a leading manufacturer
of scales. Despite the devastation wrought by the Second
World War, the third generation of the Krups family launches
the company with barely thirty employees. Fritz Krups, an
experienced technician, quickly transforms a few original
ideas into successful products.
With a keen sense of what the prosperous post-war market
desires, Krups launches the first electric coffee grinder
in 1956. Consumers enthusisastically purchase this new applianceKrups
sells 1 million electric coffee grinders in their first
year of manufacture.
The "3-Mix" mixer takes Germany by storm in 1959 and becomes
the symbol for the modern kitchen and sets the standard
for state-of-the-art. As the 1950s draw to a close,
one innovation after another keeps Krups on the cutting
edge of household appliances. By 1967 Krups launches its
first slicer.
The original ONKO (now T8) coffee maker and 1980s-introduced
espresso machines satiate the German public's passion for
coffee, and Krups extends its range of machines to include
steam machines, electronically programmable models, and
combination espresso/coffee machines.
Though Krups today is probably best-known for their outstanding
coffee and espresso items, the product lines actually
run the gamut from blenders to choppers, sandwich makers
to toasters. Whether it's a breakfast buffet, afternoon
tea, or dinner and cocktails with friends and family, Krups
has a product that meets the need of the most discerning
consumers all over the world.
After more than 160 years, Krups continues to be a leader
in quality and innovation and a name that inspires trust
in cooks, chefs (not to mention coffee drinkers!) the world
over.

and sand. This same year, the start-up foundry produced
the first cocotte.
Le Creuset began to develop its product range: cookers,
charcoal stoves, hot plates for electric cookers, and kitchen
utensils. The company concentrated on its range of enameled
cast-iron after World War II and became a major innovator
of the time, becoming an international name in 1952.
As the world sped toward the close of the 20th century,
Le Creuset further advanced in refined cookware introducing
fondue sets, barbecues, and woks, as well as trendy and
unusual cookware colors.
Today, after nearly a century of quality, Le Creuset is
recognized by chefs worldwide for excellence in enameled
cookware, plus its Screwpull® line of quality corkscrews
and wine openers.

About Lodge
Some
folks in the riverbank hamlet of South Pittsburg, Tennessee,
questioned their fellow villager Joseph Lodge. Would
Joseph's cast-iron foundry make a go of it? Why even President
McKinley would take to the dandy crispy-crusted cornbread
cooked up in Joseph's special cookware, but could Joseph
really make a livin' producing frying pans, Dutch ovens,
and tea kettles?
Yep. And at Lodge Manufacturing Company nestled along the
Cumberland Plateau of the Appalachian Mountains, Joseph's
great grandchildren are still producing the world's finest
cast-iron cookware in the world. Professional chefs and
home gourmets across the globe tip their toques to Mr. Lodge's
extraordinary cooking invention from an ordinary small town.
Although the original Lodge cast-iron foundry opened in
1896, the Lodge family operates the business today with
high-tech equipment and the super high-grade materials.
People in the tiny community of roughly 3,300 are just as
proud of their cast-iron facility as they are the tender
pan-fried chicken, slow-simmering stews, and thick golden
pizzas that Lodge cookware serves up everywhere.
Lodge produces the most extensive line of cast-iron cookware
on the marketskillets, grill pans, Dutch ovens, fry pans,
biscuit pans, and more. Even the finest stainless-steel
or aluminum cookware cannot compare to Lodge cookware's
even heating, heat retention, durability, and cooking performance.
Plus, Lodge cookware will last more than a lifetime. Joseph
Lodge had the right idea after all.
